As for what Axe mods to use...
Vamp/Sundering on main, Zealous on switch for regaining energy to Frenzy some more, and an Elemental axe for dealing with Warriors.
The vamp/sundering debate's a long one with no clear winner on Axes; basically vamp offers better pressure and sundering has a higher spike potential.
and 15^50 with +30 health is a given for the other 2 mods.
As for a build?
12+1+1 Axe
10+1 Tactics
8+1 Strength
[skill]eviscerate[/skill][skill]executioner's strike[/skill][skill]shock[/skill][skill]bull's strike[/skill][skill]healing signet[/skill][skill]frenzy[/skill][skill]rush[/skill][skill]resurrection signet[/skill]
... and just hope there's a monk to keep you clean, basically. It's how warriors work.

W/R with pets FTW!!
Here is my build, works beautifully in PvE and PvP:
12 Beast mastery (so your pet does 100% of its damage)
10 Swords
12 Stregnth (8 + 4 from helm and sup rune)
Full Glad's for the energy
Any sword and shield would do, If you find that you don't have enough energy then get a +5energy sword)
Skills:
Sever Artery, Gash, Galrath Slash/Hamstring, Tiger stance, Predetor's strike(The one that gives the pet Hp back), [E] Heal as One(great heal for you and your pet, also revives your pet, 2 in 1 skill), Charm animal and rez sig.
It's pretty straight forward, you attk with sever, gash, galrath/hamstring combo while your pet does about 20 dmg to caster, 10 to armored foes, 50 with predetor's strike to caster and 30ish to armored foes.

Ok, with Factions you'll have [skill]Dragon Slash[/skill] and [skill]Sun and Moon Slash[/skill] which are pretty good; otherwise, as a sword guy in Prophecies you're stuck with [skill]Hundred Blades[/skill] as a sword elite. The skill is not so bad itself as an adrenaline builder, but not so good either and also underwhelming in RA: you'll be beating up 1 guy at a time, unless they're stupid and ball up on you. Otherwise you could play around with secondary class elites (stuff like [skill]Grenth's Balance[/skill] from the necro or - why not? it's RA - [skill]Healing Hands[/skill]), but don't even consider them for serious PvP.
The best choice if you want a strong build though is go Shock Axe (Stormlord Alex's build). Also, if you intend to PvP regularly, do make a PvP warrior and unlock the stuff you need with Balthazar faction.
P.S. Be careful with [skill]Frenzy[/skill].
[skill]Rush[/skill] is not only there as a speed boost, but mainly to cancel it out if you're getting owned taking double damage.

if you disregard all but alex's posts, and maybe 1 or 2 others(not the w/r one... jesus) you wont go wrong
dont sell the blade, keep it for pve, and learn to make a pvp character
use frenzy, use rush, use bull's strike, and... you do well

A Superior Weapon Mastery rune is good as long as you know what you are doing.

you should really never use a superior rune in pvp. at most, you would use a major rune if you trust your backline(monks) to keep you alive. in ra, definitely use a minor rune.

Somehow, I don't think Frenzy is going to work out well for this guy. Especially since Stormlord Alex put a healsig on that shockaxe also. You're an evil, evil person Alex >_>
I think Bull's Charge > Evisc for RA simply because of the lawlz factor. Either that, or some bullshit teleport hammer build.
As a side note, I'm beginning to remember why I stopped reading this forum.

its not him thats doing bad in pvp, its u
it doesnt matter what ur weapon is, just make sure its max and sum basic bonuses, get a decent build, get a ress also.
dont use things like frezy, endure pain, healing breeze in pvp unless u know how to use frenzy correctly

all this talk about axe and sword, but we forget hammer. hamemr in light pvp is probably (imo) the best way to go. yeah Shock Axe and even CripSlash Warrior are great, but hammer has some pretty mean skills and combinations, that if used right, can do hell of a lot of dmg in a short time.
Warrior/Ranger
14 hammer 11 (+1 helm +2 Major Rune)
9 beast mastery
(x) tactics (+1 minor rune) (w/e you have left, put it in here)
Weapons
Any Hammer with 15^50% mod
Furious 10/10 adrenaline gain
armor+7 (elemental damage)/hp+30 ( prefer armor+7, since you have no shield)
Skills
Devestating Hammer
Crushing Blow
Auspicious Blow (factions)
Heavy Blow
Tigers Fury (All your non-attack skills are disabled for 5 seconds. For 5...10 seconds, you attack 25% faster.)
Healing Signet
Bonetti's Defence
Rez Signet
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Warrior...Hammer_Mastery**check the skills out here, as i dont have time right now to post them up!
now mind yourself. when you use this, wait for all your adrenal skills to charge (except Bonetti's) then use them in the order they are written. you can activate tiger's fury to gain adrenaline, then use it again to apply these skills. DONT OVERUSE IT! as a warrior, you dont have much energy, so unless you are being pressured and you might die, before you execute your spike, dont activate Tiger's fury to gain adrenaline.
the rest is pretty simple, once you check out the skills. only ONLY use healing signet, when you're not under much pressure, as it could kill you faster than it could heal you.
Use Auspicious Blow, whenever you can, on targets you have applied weakness on, as it will give you energy back and help you keep up Tigers Fury
This build can be very lethal to casters, without monks in their group and limits warriors, assasins and Dervish, not only because of bonettis Defense, but also because of the excessive Weakness application.
This Build is not the best out there, thats for sure, but for a Proph/Factions owner that likes RA and is quite new to PvP, it is very useful and quite simple.
all i have left to say is: Make a PvP Character!
Edit: lol forgot to put in classes

On an Axe, Vampiric steals 3 health from the target per hit. That means they lose 3, you gain 3. To balance your per-hit health gain, carrying a Vampiric weapon gives you -1 health degen. This seems to freak out many newer players, but rest assured that if you are attacking, you are gaining health faster than you are losing it. Do not bring Mending to counteract it... just switch to a different weapon when you're not fighting. Make no mistake, Vampiric is one of the best prefix upgrades for a martial weapon.

Beast Mastery in Holy's build is powering Tiger's Fury, not a pet.
Agreed that hammers are on par with Axes in PvP, though Tiger's Fury is seriously outclassed by Frenzy.

Sundering is bad in PvP. Use zealous, and switch to vamp when you spike. Oh ya, and Elemental vs Wars.

thx for actually rteading my post before you came to conclusions
I do agree that Frenzy > Tiger, but for a beginner PvPer, Frenzy could very well be lethal. not to mention you would need to lose a skill slot to a not-so-useful stance, jsut to cancel out frenzy when needed.
Again, my build is no where near great, but its quite useful for someone jsut starting out
Normally though, i would reccomend Flail with 0-3 str, instead of Tiger, but no NF for him yet

Not really, anymore. It allows for a chance to have a huge crit, which can change games at times.

i personally find that sundcrit concept to be total bullshit. unless your unloading exec>evis on a fleeing monk you have (20% crit chance times 20%sund chance) a 4% chance to... do, what? 10 more damage?

Have you ever used a 20/20 scythe? That's some massive damage right there.
